Clover (Make sure the device is configured first

  • Look for the "Network Pay" app, it may be located on the second page. If you do not see the Network pay app, please install it.
  • Note: you MUST be logged in to the Clover with admin permissions to be able to install the app from the app market. If you don't see the “More Tools” or “App Marketplace” app, it's because you are logged in as a user without sufficient permissions.
  • Download steps:
    • Click on the More Tools or App Marketplace icon
    • In the search bar type in “Secure Network Pay Display”
    • Download the app and complete the steps above.
  • Open the Network Pay app and click on the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top left hand corner, once the menu expands press “Settings”.
  • Make sure that the server port says “5555”, if it doesn’t say this click on it and type in 5555.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page, the IP address will be displayed here. Write it down.
  • Press the back button at the bottom of the page to return to the previous screen. Once on the original screen of the Network Pay app press Start, your school's: branding, name, or logo should appear.

Note: Once you start the Network Pay App you will need to pair the Clover terminal to the POS. To pair the device, try and complete a transaction. You will first be required to enter the Clover PIN by the credit card terminal, then you will have to enter the pairing code that shows up on the POS into the Clover. Ensure that your cashiers know the Clover PIN as this may be required several times a week

Troubleshooting

If the terminal is still not working after you followed the steps above please make sure you meet the criteria below

Step 1) Please ensure that the credit card terminal and Surface Pro are on the same network. If they are on different networks they will not communicate.

To do this please check to see if the IP address before the last period matches up with the IP of the terminal. Example: 192.168.1.153 vs 192.168.1.25 and 10.0.1.2 vs 10.0.1.4. If not, this means that you are not on the right network.

To find the IP address of your Surface Pro open Google Chrome and type in "Find my IP Address" in the Google Search bar.

Step 2) You may have a firewall at your campus that prevents two devices on the same network from communicating with each other. If you do have a firewall that was set up by your IT department please reach out to them.
