Credit Card Terminal - Setting a Static IP Address for Your Clover Terminal

If you are having issues with the IP address of your credit card terminal changing frequently, it is bet to assign it a static IP address. In order to assign the Clover a static IP address you can take one of two paths.

Option 1:

Please reach out to your network team and tell them to assign an IP address for the device based on it's MAC address. 

To find the MAC Address of the Clover Terminal: 

  • If you are in transaction mode for the Clover (have a black screen with the name of your school) you need to exit this screen. Press all four corners of the Clover to exit
  • Once you are on the main screen (page with all the icons), select the Settings icon (looks like a gear).
  • Select Network & Internet
  • Select Ethernet
  • The MAC address will be shown there.
  • Exit this screen and return to the Network Pay App, press Start to return it to normal transaction mode. 

Option 2:

You can assign a static IP to the device on the Clover. 

  • If you are in transaction mode for the Clover (have a black screen with the name of your school) you need to exit this screen. Press all four corners of the Clover to exit
  • Once you are on the main screen (page with all the icons), select the Settings icon (looks like a gear).
  • Select Network & Internet
  • Select Ethernet
  • Select Static IP Meetings
  • Check the box that says "Use Static IP"
  • Type in the IP Address, Netmask, DNS1 & the DNS2 info (this is going to be provided to you by your network team). 
  • Hit Save
  • Exit this screen and return to the Network Pay App, press Start to return it to normal transaction mode.
