Imports (FIIT POS) - Inventory Import
In order to be able to scan the barcodes of items in FIIT you must first do an inventory import.
Step 1: Please fill in the template file below, some guidance on how to properly do this is as follows:
- All columns are mandatory except: inventoryItemId, mealPlanIndicator, and printerId. You must input values in all the required fields
- Do not delete any empty columns or change the names of any columns, the import will fail
- Location ID: to find this number click on the Locations tile from the home page in FIIT.
- Target Quantity: you can put this is as the same value as Current Quantity.
- UPC: this is the product SKU that you want to scan
- Tax Rate ID: this is the ID not the value of the tax rate. To find this number click on the Settings tile from the homepage in FIIT and expand the Tax Rates field.
- The imported file must be in csv format.
Inventory Import Template
Step 2: Upload the File
- Go to the Menu & Inventory tab in FIIT.
- Select which location you want to add the inventory item too.
- On the left hand side of the screen select the option that says "Inventory List"
- Select Import UPC. Attach the file you completed in step 1.
If you only have a handful of items to add, instead of importing a csv file, add them manually through FIIT. This would be done on the same page that you're on, however, instead of selecting "Import UPC" select "Add Inventory"
Pro Tip
If you are unsure of what the value of your UPC code is, open the Notepad app on your Surface Pro that has a scanner configured (swipe diagonally from the top left corner of the Surface Pro towards the centre, this will minimize FIIT). Once this is done search "Notepad" in the search bar.
Once you have Notepad open, scan your barcode on the item in question. The value will be shown there.
