Cash Drawer (FIIT POS) - Cash Drawer Not Opening

The cash drawer opens because it gets a command from the printer, if it's not opening, and the printer isn't printing, it means the printer isn't receiving the command in the first place. To troubleshoot this please follow the steps below:

Note: If your printer is still printing it means the cash drawer cable is not connected properly. Please ensure that the cable that goes from the printer to the cash drawer is properly plugged in at both ends. A loose connection will cause the cash drawer to not work. Otherwise, proceed to the instructions below.

  1. Turn off the printer
  2. Press and hold the feed button
  3. Turn on the printer
  4. Release the feed button
  5. One or two sheets will be printed out. The IP address will be shown on one of the pages. Circle it, it will be used later on.

5) Once this is done log into FIIT, select "Locations"
6) Click on Edit POS Stations for the locations where your printer isn't working (icon looks like a calculator)

7) Click on the POS station that is being affected
8) Make sure the IP address matches what is shown on the paper, if it doesn't, please enter whatever showed up on the print out. When you enter the correct IP address press "Edit POS station"

If the printer is still not working please try the advanced troubleshooting.
