Imports (FIIT POS) - How to Import Menus

This topic would cover situations such as updating prices in your menus or copying it over to new locations. Please note this is for FIIT POS, for Nōwn imports please see here.

If you already have a menu at a location and just want to edit it then:

  • Log into FIIT and click on Location. Select the third icon on the right hand side, it looks like a download button and says "Export Location POS Menu". Once you download this CSV file make any required changes to the menuDo not change the template in any way (in terms of deleting columns, changing the order, or changing header) only change the values in the columns.

If you don't have a menu for that location then you need to export the menu template first.

  • You can do this by selecting the Menu & Inventory tile from the home page then selecting the Download Menu Template on the left hand side. Do not change the template in any way (in terms of deleting columns, changing the order, or changing header) only change the values in the columns. Populate this file with the exact information it asks.

Most of these fields are not mandatory but we outline the required fields and where you will be able to find that information below.

  • servicePeriodId : the items need to be assigned to a specific service period, to find this ID go to the homepage of FIIT then hit Settings, then expand the Service Period menu. All the IDs will be there.
  • name: item name
  • price: self explanatory
  • taxRateId: the tax rate that will be applied to the item. To find this ID go to the homepage of FIIT then hit Settings, then expand the Tax Rates menu. All the IDs will be there. If there is no tax leave it blank
  • mealPlanEligible: whether or not an item is meal plan eligible, 1 means yes, 0 means no.
  • locationId: you need to specify which location this item will be displayed at. To find this ID go to the homepage of FIIT then hit Locations, all the IDs will be there
  • enabled: whether or not an item is meal plan eligible, 1 means yes, 0 means no.
  • inventory ID: for all fields put "-1"
  • Regardless of which of the two routes you took, you need to go back and select Menu & Inventory tile from the home page. Click on the location in question and then select "Import Menu". Follow the on screen instructions to upload it.

d) Repeat for each location.
