Printer (Nōwn POS) - Printer Set Up
Please note that you must use the actual Nōwn app when attempting to use the hardware. It will not work if you try and activate the hardware by doing transactions on the browser through the Nōwn website.
Before you begin: you must enable the Windows settings for the printer, otherwise it won't work. In order to do this please follow these steps.
Step 1: Obtaining Network Information
- Ensure the printer is off. Press and hold the print button, while holding the print button, turn on the printer.
- Release the print button.
The printer should be printing at this point. The IP address will also be shown on this paper, make sure to note down this address as it will be used later when configuring the Nōwn POS.
If IP address is 0.0.0.0 there is no ethernet connection which could be for one of three reasons:
1. Your ethernet cable is not connected properly to the terminal, ethernet port, or both.
2. Your ethernet cable is faulty, replacing the cable would solve the issue.
3. There is no internet coming from the ethernet port, in this case you would need to contact your internet service provider.
2. Adding the printer to Nōwn
- Open the NownPOS app and go to the Setup, section.
- Open Station Setup
- Tap on “+ Add Station”, unless you already have stations created.
- All you need is the printer IP address and receipt printer port. Please note that the receipt printer port will be 80.
When you’re done click “Add a printer”.
A new field will appear, you need to make sure you do the following:
Manufacturer: Star Micronics
Model: TSP650II-WebPRNT. Please note to select the TSP650II-WebPRNT and not the TSP650II
Ensure that the Receipt box is checked.
Please save once you are done.
